My name is Ciara Madden and I'm living as a settler of mixed Irish and Chinese descent on land that touches the shared waters of all tribes and bands within the Suquamish, Tulalip, and Muckleshoot nations. I began working with the Ask Us Project as part of my MPH Thesis at the University of Washington, but became interested in reproductive justice in my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan where I majored in Gender and Health, as well as Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience.

In my undergraduate studies, I conducted HIV/STI testing at the student center and began to learn the limits of youth sexual health education, triggering my interest in the Ask Us Project and how this study examines the ongoing challenges in youth reproductive decision-making. Outside of academia, I enjoy watching football and am a huge Michigan Wolverines and Seattle Seahawks fan! Go Blue and Go Hawks!
